A well-known Bolton hostelry of bygone days - the St George's Hotel, on the corner of Knowsley Street and St George's Road. This picture was taken in 1932, showing the handsome facade shortly after the pub was rebuilt in 1927. It closed in January, 1968, and the site cleared in 1972. The Market Place now stands on the site of that and many other buildings, of course.
