KEVIN Ball has seen the dawn of a new season well over a dozen times in his successful career.

But even at the tender age of 35 and now with his fourth club, Burnley's new arrival is just as excited about the prospect of running out with the newly-promoted Clarets at the Reebok tomorrow.

"I don't think as a player I'll ever lose that buzz until such time it comes to the stage that I can't play any more and hopefully I will be on the management side somewhere and I'll get it from a different perspective as well.

"I'm looking forward to the game and I'm definitely going to get a buzz out of it," he said.

The former Sunderland skipper, who will take on a pivotal central midfield role for the Clarets on their return to Division One, is no stranger to fanatical support from his days on Wearside.

And he's looking forward to more of the same with Burnley -- starting at the Reebok Stadium.

He added: "To come the way Burnley did at the end of the season and get promotion was excellent. I think that was a fantastic achievement and I think everyone should appreciate that.

"Now they've stepped up to the big league it's important that everybody gets behind the club again, home and away.

"By all accounts we will be taking over 5,000. That's fantastic support and I'm looking forward to playing in front of them.

"It's important as a club that we stick together. We've got a good year ahead of us and let's all work hard together."
