BOLTON Harriers Girls were crowned champions of Division Two in their final match of the McDonald's Young Athletes League in Stretford.
Over the three matches Bolton accumulated a total of 803 points closely followed by Horwich with 794 points.
Sam Aspen of Bolton was athlete of the match for her 300m performance and Horwich's county champion Janine Mullineaux's 28m javelin throw getting her athlete of the match for field events.
This rounded off a remarkable day with the girls getting 34 new records between them.
The under 17s won 14 events. Nicola Boardman was in outstanding form getting personal bests in all three of the events she competed in and won.
Jemima Hall won the A discus and the javelin B.
Sam Aspen showed her good form winning the 100m A and the 300m with a clear win in 42.4s.
She also competed in the A long jump, winning a best of 4.41m.
Kate Finn who ran 14.8s in the 100m B bringing her home in first place. Hayley McDonald won the B.
Rebecca Sames ran the 200m B finishing joint first in 30.0 seconds. Hayley also ran the 80m hurdles winning the B event. Also she ran an excellent 300m hurdles race winning the B event in 62.7s. In the 300m B string, Lindsay Warburton won the event in 48.9s.
In the Under 15s Nia Vaughn threw an excellent 24m80 in the discus throw A event winning the event a metre ahead of the rest of the field. J
The under 13s, Laura Costello who won athlete of the match in the first match, showed her class again winning the 70m hurdles in a smashing time of 12.3s.
Lindsay Jones running the B 1200m ran bravely finishing an excellent first smashing her previous best performance by three seconds with a time of 4m38.2. In the 70m hurdles B event with Laura having just won the A, Sarah Harwood made it a double win running close to her best in 15.8 seconds.
In the A long jump, Sophie Wilkinson won with 3.95m. It was a close event with Horwich's Sara Stephens but good enough for Sophie to win.
Bolton now get promoted to a higher league, along with Horwich who finished second.
