BOLTON West MP Ruth Kelly has given birth to her third child -- a girl who arrived two weeks early at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Roisin Joyce Maud Gadd put in an appearance at 4.40pm yesterday after a 14 hour labour and weighed in at a healthy 7lb 7oz.
It is thought that Ruth is the first woman MP to give birth to three children in a single parliament.
Roisin, in keeping with the family's tradition of choosing Irish names, is a sister for Eamonn, aged three, and two-year-old Sinead.
Ruth's delighted husband Derek said: "Roisin is very good and has a very contented look on her face."
After checks by doctors mum and baby, who are both doing well, are due to go home later today.
