I FEEL I must reply to Chris Wormald's letter, in which he complains of the lack of support from Bolton companies for youth activities.
I have worked at Bolton Lads and Girls Club for more than 20 years, and can only say that I am constantly staggered by the generosity of local people and local firms.
Our club has tripled in size over the past six years, more than 1,500 children and young people use the club every week.
To provide this level of service, we have to raise £700,000 each year and more than 90 per cent of this comes from local individuals and local companies.
There are lots of reasons why companies support local charities.
Equally there are lots of reasons why at various times they cannot give their support.
As recipients of donations and sponsorship money we should be grateful when it is given, and understanding when it is not.
