THE BREIGHTMET Cons continued their impressive form this week taking their unbeaten run to nine games.

It was this much improved and better-organised side, under the guidance of manager Mick Halliwell, who clinched the 4th Division last season.

They swept aside a Wandering Trotters side that could just not deal with the attacking style and quicker movement of the Cons which left them on the end of a 22-6 scoreline.

One of Premier Fives longest standing sides, the Cons, have never seemed to live up to their full potential, until now, that is.

Another side on a roll are Aggro of the Britvic Wednesday 2nd Division.

Again, they are team who have often promised much, but never delivered, who seem to be finding a fine vein of form for the new season.

They ultimately proved too much for Bolton Golf Club running out 11-8 winners of a hard fought game which will no doubt leave the Golf Club ruing so many missed chances as they head back to the training ground.

Aggro will prove to be a tough nut to crack and will once again be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

The shock result of the week came in the Worthington's Tuesday 6th Division when Mark and the Mechanics chalked up their first win of the season.

There would no doubt have been scenes of celebration in the 'Players Lounge' after the 19-5 win against the Toothless Simpletons which has really opened up this division.

There are now six teams tied on three points and if the Mechanics can keep the momentum going, who knows, they could find themselves in a promotion battle at the end of the season.

A shot in the arm for any team feeling a little 'over the hill' was the form of Monday 4th Division team Gerry's Hat Tricks. After winning promotion last season, this team of more experienced and mature gentlemen obviously have no intention of hanging up their boots for quite a while yet and if the wry smiles that were seen as the players left the pitch after the 11-6 win over Pre-Season Favourites are anything to go by, these guys will be looking to put one over on a few 'younger' teams before this season is over.
