THE weather spoiled what looked like a good win for the Fort James Bolton League U15s against the Salford JCL at Farnworth SC in their last game in the group stage on the Murry Smith Peak Sports Competition,which the league have won every game they have played in.
The League won the toss a decided to bat first. Openers Rodzoch and Kerr put on 56 before Kerr was caught on 22. Hallows was next in and between them they put on 124 for the next wicket. With the score on 175 after 30 overs the League looked in an good position. Hallow's wicket fell with him on 56 and he was closely followed by Rodzoch with a fine 76.
A fast 35 by Guest and further quick scoring by Carney 15 and French 15 left the league on 231 with 5 overs remaining. Dunn was next to the crease scoring an unbeaten 29 supported by Tong leaving the League on 276 for 6 after their 45 overs. After tea the weather got worse but the second innings was started.Seenan scored a fast 21 supported by Sheik unbeaten on 24 before weather intervened and the game called off.
This left the league with one point from the game but 7 points in total which should be enough to take them through to the quarter final stages of the competition.
