FOUR generations of a Bolton family are setting off on a fun-filled holiday to Disneyland Paris this week as part of birthday celebrations for 96-year-old Mary Buckley.

Mary, who will be aged 97 at Christmas, has not been abroad for years but her family decided the adventure would be just the ticket to combine an early birthday party with the ruby wedding commemorations for her daughter and son-in-law Maureen and Keith Jones.

Altogether 10 members of the family, including three children, will be setting off for the four-day trip to Disney on Friday. Mary's trip is the talk of Jubilee House in Moor Lane, where the pensioner lives in sheltered accommodation.

The great grandmother, a former mill worker who has been widowed for 20 years, lived in Canada for several years after her marriage, but the family later returned home to Bolton and her only other trip abroad was a holiday in Spain many years ago.

She has been keen to go on the holiday despite being confined to a wheelchair and last year suffering a major heart attack. "Mum is always keen to join in the fun,' said Maureen.
