RESIDENTS near one of the town's main golf clubs have claimed its users treat their road "like a racing track".
Jason Doherty has accused Manor Golf Club chiefs of refusing to put up a sign asking motorists to slow down as they drive along Moss Lane, in Kearsley.
The 30-year-old bus driver believes a child could be injured or killed by the speeders.
His attempts to ask drivers to slow down, he said, have been met with rude responses.
And he is also incensed that a bid to place speed bumps on the road has been so far unsuccessful.
Mr Doherty said: "It got worse a year ago when five-a-side football pitches were opened.
"At night you see cars full of people wearing football shirts going so fast down the road."
He said he and his wife, Lisa, 26, are worried about the safety of their three children, Ashley, five, and one-year-old twins Emily and Megan.
But Andy Smith, manager of the golf club, said he has not received any requests for a sign to be put up.
He added: "We would urge motorists to adhere to the speed limits at all times.
"We are not aware of any complaints, though. The road is quite bad with loose chippings and to go very fast would damage the cars.
"There would be no problems if the residents were to come to us to discuss their concerns."
