KIND-HEARTED staff from Transco in Bolton have helped to brighten up the lives of children in a local hospice.
The Transco team got together and raised cash to help create a sensory garden at Derian House in Chorley.
The hospice, which provides respite care for terminally ill youngsters including those from the Bolton area, had started an appeal to create a sensory garden for children to experience movement, touch and sound, and help them cope with their illnesses.
But the price of the garden, which includes a water feature and wind chimes, was more expensive than expected and the Transco workers helped to fund the remaining cost.
Joyce Dilworth, nursery nurse at the hospice, said: "The sensory garden is beautiful and will mean the children can spend time outdoors experiencing all sorts of things which they have missed in the past."
