A RECKLESS prankster continued a dangerous 'bombing' campaign last night with a huge firework blast in a garden.

The device left a 12 inch hole in the front lawn of a house on a quiet residential street in Swinton, which saw dozens of people take to the streets to see what had caused the explosion.

Luckily the elderly couple whose garden the device was left in, were not in at the time, and their property was not damaged.

It is the latest in a string of explosions in the area which have shattered windows and damaged cars.

No-one has been injured but today police chiefs warned someone could be killed or seriously injured if the terror campaign continues.

Chief Insp John Carling said: "This was a significant explosion and disturbed the neighbourhood. We're treating this as a criminal inquiry."

The BEN revealed last night that police forensic experts are probing the possibility that coins could have been placed in one device which went off in Walkden on Tuesday night, in a bid to cause maximum damage.
