THE search is on for youngsters to take part in the Child of Achievement Awards.
The awards, which are in their 20th year, are given annually to 150 children up to the age of 16 nationwide who, by their everyday tasks to help others or their ability to overcome illness or disability, are worthy of the title "Child of Achievement."
Bolton's last winner was Karla Wright from Breightmet. In February, the six-year-old, who suffers from cerebral palsy, received her award at a star-studded event at the Hilton Hotel, London, when she met former Prime Minister John Major and One Foot in the Grave Star Richard Wilson.
The youngster, a pupil at Red Lane Primary School, was cheered on by pupils at Smithills High School where she has a fan club.
To nominate a child, write in no more than 50 words your reasons for nomination and enclose a clear photograph and as much medical support literature as you wish. Include your own details and a daytime phone number. The age limit is 16 and the closing date is November 10.
Nominations forms are sent to schools across the country, or visit the website on www.childofachievement.co.uk
