EMMERDALE actor Glenn Lamont married Bolton girl Cheryl Hackett in a star-studded wedding ceremony in Harrogate.
Cast members of the hit television soap made a short trip across Yorkshire to the town's Old Swan Hotel.
But the newly-weds were adamant the prying camera lenses of the press pack assembled outside would not be taking any snaps.
The couple had signed an exclusive deal with celebrity magazine OK! for an undisclosed sum following the trend set by other high-profile couples such as David and Victoria Beckham.
Millions of viewers are more familiar with Glenn's character, computer whizz Richie Carter, seen having an on-screen affair with farmer's wife Sarah Sugden.
Such behaviour will be off the cards for Glenn and Cheryl, however.
They became besotted with each other when they met six years ago after the 24-year-old Bolton woman attended Leeds University. Ironically Alyson Spiro, who plays Sarah Sugden, turned up for the occasion, along with fellow cast members Clive Hornby (Jack Sugden), Ben Freeman (Scott Windsor), Mark Sharnock (Marlon Dingle) and Nicky Evans (Roy Glover).
Cheryl's parents, who live in Mayfair, Horwich, were also at the ceremony to watch their daughter marry the ambitious 26-year-old who freely admits he would like to star in other shows.
But everyone was keeping tight-lipped over the wedding in case they fell foul of the OK! contract.
Even the manager of the Old Swan Hotel was reluctant to talk. "It went well, that's all I can tell you," he said before confirming they had spent the night at the hotel, checking out at 9.40am on Sunday morning.
But, talking before the civil ceremony, Cheryl said being married to a well-known personality would not faze her and added: "Most people don't bother us. But you do get the odd person telling him to leave Sarah alone."
