IN reply to Paul Hilton's letter (August 18). Mr Hilton suggests I have attacked him and the forum.
It was Mr Hilton who took issue with my letter in the first insance. I have merely defended myself.
It would seem that I may be the one under attack, but at least he admits others did help to set up the forum.
He goes on to say that I have redeemed myself. In whose opinion? His! I don't think so.
I told it as it was, and he says to the people of Harper Green that they should take note of me and attack this council for its neglect.
Let Mr Hilton suggest that for himself without using my name.
I am not asking anyone to attack anything, or anyone, but what I would say to the people of Harper Green is to exercise their democratic right to put pen to paper and write to their council representatives, or to the BEN to tell them what they think about the Harper Green area. Some people may find it difficult to get to meetings so write to other people in Harper Green who may be interested in your views.
It may be you are not on your own, and the meetings may come later, who knows.
Mr Hilton tells of another grant from last year, which was not mentioned before.
Why? It was for traffic calming, but not enough money for humps. A democratic vote was taken and the scheme was sacked by the highways department.
The people must have said no to the bollards but not to the traffic calming scheme, so why be stuck with bollards? Slow traffic down but don't shut roads completely.
How would emergency services get past bollards?
This is why Harper Green needs some of the money around now, not to settle for second best.
