SKATING prodigy Kevin McGuire was upbeat after coming third in the national Playstation Skating Championships.
The 16-year-old travelled to London on Saturday to compete against another six competitors from across the country in the prestigious contest.
It was finally won by the organiser's own team but Kevin, who was handed a bundle of clothes and video games for coming third, said he was eager to enter the contest next year. He said: "It was a hard day's work and it went all right in the end.
"I'm definitely going to continue practising and entering competitions."
Kevin, from Bromley Cross, has won a host of prizes and last month he came first in a Liverpool contest.
He still has his eye on becoming a semi-professional in-line skater when he leaves Turton High School this summer.
