CUSTOMERS at the local B&Q store could be forgiven for thinking they have seen management trainee Stuart Kay's face before.
For when the giant company wanted to launch a nationwide TV advertising campaign they certainly did it themselves -- and recruited the 26-year-old.
Stuart, who has worked at the store in Crostons Road, Bury, for less than six months, said: "The company asked if anyone wanted to go for an audition.
"As I fancied going on the telly, I said yes. I was delighted to discover I'd been chosen.
"I've always wondered what it would be like to be on TV. The whole experience has been unbelievable, the crew was great and I loved every minute.
"It's definitely not going to be the last time you see me on TV," he promised.
Stuart features on two B&Q TV ads, one on his own and the other with colleagues.
He was among 17 B&Q employees from all over the country who were selected and filmed for the advertising campaign.
Although his role was unpaid, the company wined and dined Stuart and his colleagues and put them up in a four-star hotel in Blackpool where the filming took place.
"Later, they sent us videos of the shoot which was on location at a B&Q warehouse in the resort."
Stuart, who travels to work from his home in Leeds, has worked for the DIY firm for more than three years and was previously based in Derbyshire.
Asked if his TV appearance would propel him on the road to stardom, he said; "If opportunity knocks, then I'll be happy to take on any other TV work."
