AN historic Bolton town centre store is set to waltz back in time next month. And shoppers to Whitakers in Deansgate, Bolton, are invited to dress in 1940s clothes when the store hosts a special afternoon tea dance.
The event on Sunday, September 10 is linked to the Battle of Britain anniversary.
As well as traditional tea and sandwiches on offer, there will be all the usual tea dance waltzes, foxtrots and quicksteps. And '40s-style bunting will help create the wartime atmosphere in the store's Atrium Restaurant.
The event runs from 1.30pm to 4pm with tickets costing £3.50 each, including refreshments.
Tickets are available from the store's customer service department or from Bolton Hospice appeals office.
The hospice will also be receiving a cheque at the tea dance from store staff who have been busy fund-raising.
