Wanderers' home game against QPR, scheduled for September 2, has been postponed because of international call-ups, writes BEN Chief Soccer Writer Gordon Sharrock.
Reebok chiefs confirmed the postponement after three of their players were named in national squads for games that weekend. A new date has still to be arranged.
But there was an element of surprise in the trio.
For while Per Frandsen was being inexplicably dropped from the Denmark squad for their World Cup qualifier in Iceland, Mark Fish confirmed that he has accepted an invitation to return to the South African squad, six months after announcing his retirement from international football.
The central defender returns to the 'Bafana Bafana' squad for the African Nations Cup qualifier in Congo on Sunday, September 3. Jussi Jaaskelainen and Gareth Farrelly had earlier been confirmed in the Finland and Republic of Ireland squads for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Holland respectively.
