THE bravery of the "Few" who saved the country from German invasion 60 years ago will be remembered in Bolton on September 17.
Local ex-servicemen and women will be joined by cadets from Bolton and Horwich air training squadrons for a town centre parade and laying of wreaths at the war memorial.
The event takes place exactly 60 years to the day when Hitler declared his planned invasion suspended after realising the mighty Luftwaffe had been defeated by Britain's brave fighter pilots.
Organisers of the annual Bolton parade, which will reach Victoria Square at 11.30am, are expecting a turn out of more than 100 people, with the salute being taken by Wing Cdr Kevan Greenhalgh.
