I WAS so pleased to read the article about the homes on Ramsbottom's Peel Brow Estate.
People old and young deserve to live in decent accommodation whether they pay their rent directly or are on housing benefit.
It was the same when City Challenge sorted out Halliwell. Now it's a much nicer place to be and live -- so many friends have told me.
This makes me wonder when, or even if, the council will ever get around to modernising our homes -- Mackenzie Street and Cameron Street to name only two.
We still have bathrooms and toilets just off our kitchens, just one door away from where we cook our meals.
I must admit, some months ago, they started moving bathrooms upstairs but only in empty houses.
Most of our homes are long-term stayers so I wonder if we will ever have the luxury of an upstairs bathroom, away from where we cook our food?
Somehow, I doubt it, as they've been promising it will happen for years.
