WHEN a Bolton university graduate flies to Australia next month she will meet her father for the first time in 22 years.

Jennifer Harper will come face to face with her Ozzie dad Heath when she begins working as a cleaner at the Olympic Games in Sydney in two weeks time.

Jennifer has not seen her dad since she was six months old.

But time appears to be on their side since Jennifer will remain in Australia after the Games are over.

She is set to become an animator at Disney's Sydney studio, putting her 2.1 in animation from the North East Wales Institute in Wrexham to good use.

The triple dose of good luck began when 22-year-old Jennifer, of Eldon Street, Tonge Moor, spotted a recruitment advert for the Olympic Games in a national paper and applied for a job.

When she discovered she had got it, her mother Carol tried to contact her father, spying an ideal opportunity for them to finally meet.

Carol eventually got through to Heath and then heard her daughter had secured a place on a training course at Disney. Jennifer said: "I've never seen my father so I'm very nervous but the whole trip is going to be one big adventure.

"I'd love to secure a full time job at Disney and the experience there is going to really benefit me."

Her Bolton-born mother lived in Australia with Heath before Jennifer was born.

But six months after the birth their marriage broke-up and Carol returned with her daughter to England.

The pair lost touch -- until three months ago.

Carol said: "Heath was gobsmacked when I spoke to him. But he's looking forward to seeing his daughter again.

"I'll miss Jennifer when she goes over there but we're going to have a huge send off, dressing her up in Australian dress and hitting the town."
