I THINK turning Blackpool into a Las Vegas is a wonderful idea.
In my youth, I had some of the best holidays of my life at Blackpool and I have been to every country in Europe.
Majorca, Ibiza, Greece, Yugoslavia and America, I have always enjoyed wherever I have been, but I never forget the holiday when I went to Blackpool with my elder brother Bill.
He was three years and three months older than me.
We went early Saturday morning on the train, and got to Blackpool about 9.30am.
By 10.30am we were dancing on the pier. After lunch we were back on the pier again dancing, there were plenty of girls so we both had many partners.
After the evening meal we went to the Tower to dance.
On the Sunday morning, we walked north, right to the top where we could look over the wall to the small boating pool at the bottom.
The next day we were again on the pier morning and afternoon.
We went to the Winter Gardens to dance that night. The next morning on the pier again, morning and afternoon.
After our meal we went to dance at the Palace until 10.30pm, then went to the Long Evening at the Tower.
Wednesday morning on the pier again, but had to catch our train home. We had our evening meal and then we went to the Gem Cinema.
Pity it was work the next morning.
