I THOUGHT I had to put pen to paper after reading recent reports about patients who die in the Royal Bolton Hospital.
My father, who lived in Leigh, had taken a massive overdose, and was very close to death.
He was taken by ambulance to Bolton, who helped to keep him alive.
The doctors and nurses did everything they could in Emergency Theatre.
He was later transferred to the North Manchester General Hospital Intensive Care.
My point is, if he wasn't treated so brilliantly by the staff at Bolton, he would have had no chance.
Unfortunately he died a couple of weeks later in North Manchester General, but at least we had a chance to say goodbye.
Thank you Bolton for keeping him alive, even though it wasn't for long.
