NOMINATIONS are invited for the Joyce Ann Smith scholarship 2001.
The Bolton Guild of Help is the trustee of the Bolton Operatic Society Trust which provides the annual scholarship to enable the recipient to attend the NODA Summer School which is usually held in August. Next year the scholarship will be worth £420.
Societies should apply to the Guild as soon as possible for an application form.
Nominees must have been active cast members for the past four years and have played in at least three of their society's productions during that period.
The scholarship can only be awarded to members of societies involved in musical productions.
The adjudicator will be the North West council member of NODA.
Application forms should be returned to the Bolton Guild of Help, Scott House 27 Silverwell Street, Bolton, BL1 1PP by September 29, and be accompanied by programmes or copies of programmes of the productions in which the applicant played. Original programmes will be returned after inspection.
More information from Mrs Margaret Watkins, Guild Secretary, on 01204 524858.
