A LARGE development site 12 miles from Bolton has come on the market.
The site comprises a former industrial mill complex, open yards and undeveloped land, in approximately seven acres of grounds.
Two Grade II listed buildings are at its centrepiece. property consultants shm Smith Hodgkinson are marketing the property, Sykeside Mill, adjacent to the A56 at Haslingden.
Constructed between the late 1700s, through to the mid 1900s, the property is unique in many respects. The 7,800 m2 building complex features two multi-storey mills with an adjoining chimney, several large production and warehouse blocks and connected ancillary buildings.
"A key characteristic of this property is the two Grade II listed buildings, which will form a unique feature for any redevelopment of the site,'' explained shm partner Richard Parkinson. He said: "We've already had a great deal of interest as the property offers plenty of potential for redevelopment for a variety of uses, whether for residential, leisure or commercial purposes."
