IN a recent story in the BEN, a teenager had, while being held in youth custody, "been bullied by other youths and had property taken from him".

He described his time there as a "living nightmare". If what he describes is true, then all I can say is good.

Perhaps his treatment there will make him realise how his victims felt, one of which was a 79-year old woman.

If the treatment he receives in youth custody discourages him from going back to crime, the sentence he received will have been very effective.
