BOLTON Wanderers ladies have been given a shot in the arm with the news that they have been awarded a grant of £3,422.
The cash injection was received under the Awards For All programme and will help finance equipment, kit, coaching fees, transport, publicity and administration costs.
The club currently runs teams for junior girls aged 11-16 and also for seniors from 16 through to open age.
Council youth worker Gerry Luczka, who backed the application, said: "I am really pleased the group have received this award in recognition of all their hard work.
"Girls football is becoming more popular by the year and the Youth Service is happy to support this initiative by providing coaching facilities and a base from which to operate."
Any girls interested in the joining the club should contact Hughie Baird on 0161-761-3337 or Burnden Sports Complex on 01204 381010.
They can also turn up for training on Tuesday evenings at 6pm with coaching carried out by qualified staff.
