A DISUSED Catholic club in Leigh was badly damaged in an arson attack late last night.
A total of 15 firemen, wearing breathing apparatus, were sent to the premises in Plank Lane at 9.40pm and were at the scene for up to three hours.
The flames had already spread from the entrance, down through a corridor, into the main ballroom and throughout the rooms upstairs where the damage was so extensive the ceilings had to be pulled down.
