KIND-HEARTED bakers cooked-up a treat for a Bolton swimmer who has been selected for the Great Britain Olympic team.
Staff at Greenhalgh's Craft Bakery in Crescent Road, Lostock, wanted to send Bolton swimmer Anthony Howard a good luck message before he jets off to Sydney.
The good luck cake was presented to the swimming team, which includes Robert Greenwood from Preston and coach Dave Evitts, at a party thrown by their swimming club which meets at Horwich Leisure Centre.
Greenhalgh's marketing manager, Patrick Kavanagh, said: "When we heard of the local swimmers achievement in being selected for the Olympic team, we felt it would be a nice gesture to give them a special cake.
"Bring home the medals lads and we'll bake you an even bigger cake!''
