POLICE are appealing for information after a 48-year-old man was punched in the face.

The man was walking along Le Mans Crescent in Bolton town centre at 2pm on Monday when he was approached by three lads who grabbed him, punched him in the face and headbutted him on the nose.

They then stole his bus pass and ran off leaving the man suffering from shock and bruises.

The attackers, who were all described as white, included someone 19-20 years of age, 5ft 7ins tall, with a skin head and wearing a scruffy orange t-shirt and dirty trainers.

The second attacker was described as 5ft 6ins tall, 15-16 years of age, of fat build, with a bald head and wearing a denim shirt, black track suit bottoms and dirty trainers.

The third man was described as being in his mid twenties, 5ft 11ins tall, of stocky build, had an ear-ring in his right ear and a stud in his lower lip and was wearing a leather jacket, dirty jeans and a pair of working boots.
