SHAKERS hardman Darren Bullock reckons the Shakers have no reason to fear the tough trip to Peterborough on Saturday.

Bullock, who has scored twice in as many weeks, has made a remarkable comeback for the Shakers after spending the end of last season on loan at non-league Rushden and Diamonds with a view to a permanent transfer.

It never happened though and now the midfielder is a new man, enjoying a wider role on the left of midfield handed to him by manager Andy Preece.

He has been in great form and against Northampton at the weekend his late goal gave the Shakers a deserved 1-0 win to take them joint top of the division.

"We've had a good couple of games and there is a lot of confidence in the camp at the moment which is what the gaffer has bought in," said Bullock.

"We deserved the points against Northampton. We knew we had to be patient and we were.

"I don't really know anything about Peterborough but Barry Fry is the manager and if he is in charge they are bound to be organised and hard to break down.

"But we are not afraid of anyone. We've won two away games on the trot and we've nothing to fear on Saturday."

Bullock is also enjoying being back among the goals, something he thinks he should be doing more often.

"I'm enjoying myself and getting two goals in three games is great," he said.

"I missed a lot of the pre-season with my back injury but I've played two full games now and I can feel my fitness starting to come back. I'm trying to get into the box more so I can score more goals and at the moment it seems to be working."

Victory against Posh would keep the Shakers at the top of the table and confound the critics who widely tipped Bury for relegation before the season began.
