THE landlord and lady of Bolton's very own "love pub" were toast of the town's romantics today when they got married.
Ron Bryant, aged 46, and Jan Foxton, 37, arrived at the York Hotel on Newport Street, Bolton in 1997.
And soon after, they declared it the "love pub".
On Valentine's Day, the pair arranged a surprise for bar staff by persuading their partners to turn up and proclaim their love in front of a packed pub.
Within weeks, one member of staff announced she was getting married and another was expecting a baby.
Now it is the turn of Ron and Jan.
Their wedding is at Bolton Parish Church at 2pm. Ron, his best man, Andy Godbert, and Jan's son, Jason, will be walking to the church from the Pack Horse Hotel in top hat and tails.
Ron said: "I can't wait. It will be absolutely marvellous.
"We met over the bonnet of a used car about seven years ago. I was selling cars in London and Jan was looking at them.
"We moved to the York Hotel in 1997 and were making plans to get married after our first Christmas here.
"But we suffered some personal setbacks and we postponed the big day.
"At that time, we were running the pub for someone else. She then had to pull out and we were faced with the prospect of leaving or using the money we had saved to get married on buying the tenancy for the pub.
"We did that and it is only now that we are finally getting married."
