WALSHAW wicket-keeper Anthony Harris has broken a 50 year old wicket-keeping record, for the Bolton Association.
The feat is a triumph for youth given that Anthony is only 18, yet playing in his fourth full season of first team senior cricket.
The record was set in 1951 by J R Gradwell of Tootals SC who snared 46 victims. Anthony now has 48, with the season having another five games to run.
Anthony's record should go a long way towards helping Walshaw to a championship win for the second successive year while he could also be in line to break M Dunn's (Little Hulton) league and cup record of 53 victims, set way back in 1973.
