ALL the play-offs for the champions and runners-up spots have been completed.
The play-off in F Section between Carl Chapman XI A and Superior Pet XI decided who were the champions and who would be runners-up.
Superior Pet batted first and were finally dismissed for 140 runs. Carl Chapman then batted and were soon in trouble before being dismissed for 49 runs. Carl Chapman batted again and were dismissed for 52 runs leaving Superior Pet XI champions by 140(1)-101.
Last year's Section A champions Little Lever XI took the runners-up spot when they beat Rupert Ladies 139-103.
The Flag and Walkers H Section played for runners-up spot. The Flag had previously beaten Walkers twice in their league fixtures and this game ended the same with The Flag winning 142-100.
Royal Hotel and VBQ I Section was also played for the runners-up spot. Although Royal were dismissed for 65 runs VBQ were dismissed for 39 and 32 runs leaving Royal Hotel requiring seven runs for victory. Royal then batted a second time and declared after scoring 40 runs leaving them runners-up 105(0)-71.
Hamers and MSJ Ladies A were involved in a play off for champions and runners-up spot in J Section.
MSJ batted first and lost eight batters for a total of 12 runs but the first three batters stuck in and scored a total of 76 runs between them in a final innings total of 98 runs.
Hamers also lost batters early on and they also lost seven batters for 17 runs but four batters came to their rescue with a total of 56 runs. Hamers were dismissed for 78 runs leaving them trailing by 20 runs at half-time. When MSJ Ladies A batted a second time they were dismissed for 58 runs which left MSJ champions by just eight runs 144-136. This game was a credit to both teams in a very evenly matched contest.
Smithills Coaching House A and Central Garage Doors played the top spot in L Section with both teams having key players missing due to holidays.
Central Garage Doors led at the half-time interval by seven runs 50-43. Smithills Coaching House A then changed it round in the second innings and ran out winners by 128-91.
The finals of the Finestyle Windows and Dorothy Clarke competitions will be played at Darcy Lever CC on Sunday September 24.
Dorothy Clarke final at 1pm, Church Hotel B v Walkden CC B (+20).
Finestyle Windows final at 2.30pm. Prices A v Hatfield A (+60).
A charity rounders tournament was held at Westhoughton CC on Bank Holiday Monday and 16 teams took part.
Breightmet Labour Club won the competition when they beat Barlow Park Ladies in the final. A special thank you went to the organisers and £350 was raised towards the Rounders League charity fund which this year is in aid of Fort Alice.

The rounders scene is mourning the death of Graham Rigby, secretary of Leverhulme XI and a referee in the Rounders League, who died suddenly at his home on August 23. Graham had been involved in rounders for many years and his contribution to the game will be sadly missed by his many friends in the rounders league.
