Chorley FC 8

Lincoln United FC 1

THE Magpies went in a half time holding a slender 2-1 lead.

At the final whistle they had routed their visitors 8-1 for their best win in more than a decade.

The damage was done in a half hour spell in which Chorley scored six goals.

Danny Mills ended the game with a hat trick.

But it was Matt Swailes who opened the scoring on 12 minutes before Lincoln drew level five minutes later.

Mills put the Magpies in front again on 28 minutes and and that's how the half ended.

It wasn't long into the second period that Chorley increased their lead, Swailes heading home his second after 49 minutes.

Ten minutes later Mills notched his second and Chorley's fourth and just minutes later Eatock grabbed a fifth.

Lincoln lost Hargreaves who was sent off and conceded another goal when Mills scored form the spot for a hat trick.

Thomson joined in with a brace to round off the scoring -- and a marvellous win.

Six-point haul in great start Eastwood Town FC 0

Chorley FC 2

CHORLEY completed a maximum six points haul from the Bank Holiday games to climb to fifth in the UniBond first division table after another solid performance.

Eastwood made the early running in a very physical first half which saw both physios constantly in action.

Chorley keeper Simon Marsh did well to make a one handed stop right on the line from a deflected shot and then got in the way of a fierce Kevin Mabon drive which ricocheted over the bar.

Only later in the half did Chorley begin to make much impression and they promptly went ahead from a 37th minute penalty.

Dave Eatock was barged over as he cut inside and Danny Mills drove home the spot kick for his fifth goal of the season.

Marsh pulled off a good save from Nick Kennerdale on the resumption and at the other end from Eatock's clever prompting Mills had the home keeper at full stretch.

Scoring chances were now few as defences increasingly dominated proceedings but the Magpies wrapped up the points with a cracking goal three minutes from the end.

Ian Leather slipped the ball forward to substitute Nick Fisher who raced almost half the length of the field before side stepping the keeper and applying the coolest of finishes. It sealed an excellent holiday period for the Magpies.
