SO close but yet so far was the despairing cry from Bolton Golf Association Juniors after they fell at the final hurdle for the second time in the Lancashire and District Final.

Last year the best of Bolton's young talent were trounced heavily by the formidable South Lancs team but hopes were high that the fast-improving juniors could take revenge when the sides clashed at Bolton.

Unfortunately it was not to be and despite a fabulous start which saw Bolton lead 4-1 after the foursomes another disaster in the singles saw the game swing South Lancs way for a final tally of 7-10.
