IT was a double success for the Bolton town teams in their matches at Old Trafford.
In the U-13 Hacking cup final against Oldham, Bolton scored 101-4 from their reduced 20 overs, a fine batting display from Iftikar Ali 50 with good support from Darren Barton 15 and Patrick Gallagher 19. In an exciting final Oldham finished six runs short on 95 for 9. Mark Walker 3 for 12 and James Hill 2 for 13.
The Ainsworth Trophy between Bolton U-15s and Oldham opened with a stand of 112 Tim Rees and Andrew Kerr. When Rees was out for 59 Kerr took control and went on to make 63. A six wicket partnership of 30, between Peter Flannagan and Jack Southworth took Bolton to 181 for 5 from their 30 overs. Oldham were always going to struggle and were bowled out in the last over for 89. Andy Kerr 3 for 14, Adam Rodzoch 2 for 33, Jack Southworth 2 for 10, Paul Tong 2 for 11 were the Bolton wicket takers.
Bolton U15s who are also the county champions will be looking for their third trophy of the season when they play Tameside Schools in the Merit League cup final at Kearsley Cricket Club on Friday with a 1.30pm start.
