DETECTIVES last night uncovered a drugs factory in Leigh -- one of two discovered by police in Greater Manchester.
A raid on premises in the town uncovered a cannabis farm, with senior officers confirming drugs worth a "substantial amount" had been seized. The exact street-value is still being estimated.
Officers from Salford West pro-active drugs and crime unit swooped on the premises late yesterday, following an earlier raid on an Eccles cannabis farm which netted drugs with a £1 million street value. Seven people were arrested following the raid on business premises on the Lyntown Industrial Estate, Eccles, just after midday yesterday.
Officers armed with a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act found scores of cannabis plants in various stages of growth at the Eccles premises.
Scene of crime officers were investigating the premises today and the seven people arrested were due to be interviewed later today.
