IT may only be September, but brave young cancer patient Sarah Heyworth's thoughts are already on Christmas.
For Sarah's wishes have come true after winning a Christmas card competition at leading cancer care centre Christie's in Manchester.
Sarah entered her drawing for a Christie's against Cancer Christmas card competition earlier this year called 'We All Wish Upon a Star'.
And she beat off stiff competition to win with her design.
Sarah, aged 12, of Balmoral Road, Chorley, caught a glimpse of her winning creation during a routine check up at the hospital.
Sarah's mum Linda said: "I'm so pleased for Sarah. Winning the competition has really brought a smile to her face and seeing the design as a real Christmas card has been very exciting for both of us."
Sarah is a patient on the Young Oncology Unit as she suffers from Ewings Sarcoma, a bone tumour in her left leg.
She has been receiving treatment for a year and it was during one of her visits to the hospital that she decided to enter the competition.
With the centenary appeal standing at almost £22 million, money raised form the sale of Sarah's card will be used to help reach the £25 million target.
Sarah is just one of thousand's of people from throughout Lancashire -- particularly those with rare and more complex cancers -- who are treated every year at Christie's.
Her design is now available from the Christie appeals office. To order, call the appeals team on 0161 446 3988.
