Adlington Rangers opened the new amateur rugby league season with an excellent victory away at Wigan St Judes.
Half backs Moss and Mitchinson scored the first two tries for Rangers, the latter converted by Hough to make it 10-0 to the visitors at half time.
After the interval, Rangers kept Judes at bay and a Parker penalty put Adlington further ahead to make if 12-0.
Finally Judes did find a chink in Rangers' line to score a try before Rangers hit back with two drop goals to make the final score St Judes 4 Rangers 14.
Mark Lowe was Rangers' man of the match.
Rangers A team went down 50-16 at West Craven.
This weekend Rangers firsts are away at Kirkholt Rangers with the A team away at Widnes Albion.
