SLIMMER, Denise Gill, of Atherton, is off to a top London Hotel today
to take part in Slimming Magazine's national 'Slimmer of the Year' competition.
Denise, 53, who has lost over three stones at the Atherton Slimming Magazine Club, was voted a Super Slimmer 2000 by fellow club members and group leader Ros Ingham.
She then went on to qualify as one of 40 finalists nationwide gaining automatic entry to the national competition.
At the Wheatsheaf Hotel, where the Atherton club meets every Wednesday evening, Denise said: "I tried to lose weight by myself with little success.
"When my blood pressure became high my doctor advised me to lose weight. Now with just a few pounds to lose before I reach my target, my blood pressure has gone down and I have never felt healthier. I can go into any shop and buy clothes and they fit! There's life in the old dog yet!"
Denise is well known for passing on words of wisdom and encouragement to other slimmers, many of whom have already begun their weight loss campaign for the countdown to party month December!
