LEIGH RMI are starting to feel at home in the Nationwide Conference and manager Steve Waywell likes what he's seen.
Three wins and a draw from their opening six games has seen the Railwaymen consolidate ninth place in the table.
Waywell says: "We may have surprised a few with the start we've made to life in the Conference but our aim at the club is still the same - finish outside the bottom three.
"If we can do that in our first year at this level we have had a good season as far as I'm concerned. It's as simple as that. We have to be realistic.
"We have now had half a dozen games to have a look at it and we are liking what we see. It is a cracking league, there's no doubt about that. I've heard it said many times recently that there is more football played in the Conference than in Division Three and now I've seen it first hand for myself I'm in full agreement with that. It is tremendous."
Waywell's side has a golden opportunity to make further progress tomorrow when they meet second bottom Boston United at Hilton Park.
The Lincolnshire side have yet to win a game this season and have only picked up three points.
Manager Steve Evans has opened talks with Clayton Blackmore, who played the opening game of the season for RMI. Also in the Boston squad is Lee Howarth, a Bolton-born defender.
RMI are expected to field an unchanged starting line-up for a fifth successive game.
