This weekend three Horwich members are competing or officiating in World Championships in Europe. In Bavaria, James Logue is representing Northern Ireland after winning their trial whilst Norman Matthews is the manager of England's Junior (Under 20) team.

Carolyn Hunter-Rowe makes her debut as manager of the Great Britain 100km team in the World Championships at Winschotten in the Netherlands on Saturday. Although I'm sure injury-hit Carolyn would prefer to be out there competing to take her third World Title, it is yet another honour for Carolyn and the club. On the subject of honours, it has just been announced that the club has been awarded the prestigious Bolton Forum for Sport Voluntary Investment Award in recognition of their achievements and input into local athletics at all

levels.

Upcoming events for your diary include the Uphill Mile Race this Tuesday (12th) which is at 7.15 p.m with registration at the Bridge Inn. Entry fee is £2 for seniors and £1 for juniors.

The annual general meeting has been confirmed as Wednesday, October 11th at the Horwich RMI Social Club (Pennine Suite) at 8 p.m.
