RESIDENTS in the Bradshaw, Breightmet and Tonge areas of Bolton will be able to hear what is being done about the "grotspots" in their area at the next meeting of their council forum.
People attending the last meeting identified litter strewn pathways, semi-derelict buildings and fly-tipping which needed attention and the council will be reporting back on what has been done about them.
The meeting will also explain the background to the SRB6 initiative which has brought £20 million to the area and how the next 12 months will be used to develop projects. Also on the agenda are proposals to bring council services closer to the community through the One Stop Shop scheme.
The meeting is the first in the next round of community forums and takes place at Longsight Primary School, Harwood, starting at 7pm next Wednesday.
There will be an open session for questions by members of the public before they will see special presentations about these initiatives in their area.
Council chiefs were delighted with the enthusiasm shown for the first forums.
Cllr Michael Kilcoyne, the cabinet member with responsibility for area working, said: "We got off to a really good start with the first meetings and I hope more people will now begin to take an interest and see that the forums can work for them."
He added: "Each forum will now begin to develop their own distinctive voice and address the different needs of their communities."
