THERE will be no room for complacency when the second-placed Shakers take on Colchester United at Gigg Lane tonight.
Boosted by their fine victory over unbeaten table toppers Walsall on Saturday Andy Preece is looking for his side to extend their unbeaten league run to five matches.
"We're looking forward to every game at the moment and we've got to make sure we're ready for Colchester.
"There won't be any complacency after beating the league leaders. I've spoken to the lads and they know they haven't to let their standards drop.
"Colchester defeated Queens Park Rangers 4-1 at Loftus Road last week and they've had some other decent results too. But if we play as we have done there's no reason why we shouldn't get the three points."
Victory over the Essex side could see the Shakers head the Division Two table should Walsall go down at Luton tonight.
But Preece is choosing to play down the fact and is just hoping his side can build on the great result at the weekend.
Irrelevant
"It would be nice but it's irrelevant if we go top at this stage of the season," he said.
"It's a case of us getting as many points as we can as soon as we can."
Preece looks like being without Indian international striker Bhaichung Bhutia for the second match with a hamstring strain.
Defender Lee Unsworth (ankle) will also be missing but Paul Reid should be okay despite having a broken finger.
Colchester boss Steve Whitton has admitted surprise at the Shakers good start to the campaign and is looking for his side to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
In Lomana Tresor Lua Lua they have one of the hottest properties in the division and Preece is well aware of his threat.
"Matt Barrass did a tremendous job on him down there last season but I wouldn't have thought we would go man to man on him.
"We'll look at the reports from Saturday's game but I don't think we'll be doing anything special to counter him."
