GRIZEDALE FOREST, Lake District. Grizedale Show. A weekend of art, forestry and fetes which includes limo tours visiting new works of art in the forest and the launch of the Festival of Lying celebrating the local tradition of 'Cumbrian lying", also displays of lumber jacks, the famous Welsh Axemen and displays of pole lathe turning and basket making. For children there is a rocket building and launch display, a forest treasure trail. Other attractions include forest art and nature tours, falcontry demonstrations, dry stone walling, a duck race, a marquee with stalls. THE OLD PARSONAGE, Arley Green, Northwich, Cheshire. Viscount and Viscountess Ashbrook open their gardens for visitors to view yew hedges, herbaceous and mixed borders, shrub roses, climbers, woodland garden and a pond with waterplants, rhododendrons, azaleas, meconopsis. The Old Parsonage is a 1750 Georgian farmhouse which also includes a cluster of old farm buildings which have been converted into cottages and a 15th Century Cruck Barn which until recently was used as the local primary school.
