THE Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club are promoting the British Team Cycle Speedway Championship Semi-Finals and Final, on Sunday September 17.
The event is being jointly sponsored by the Bolton Evening News and our sister paper, the Leigh Journal.
Racing is bound to be fast and furious as four top teams battle it out at the Gin Pit raceway, the North's Regional Cycle Speedway Centre.
Racing starts at 12 noon, with the first Semi-Final, between Southampton and East London. This is followed at 1.30 pm,by the second semi-final, between 11 times winners Poole and the holders Wednesfield. The final is scheduled to start at 4 pm.
The Gin Pit venue boasts unrivalled facilities in the North in cycle speedway, and the track has a reputation for providing exciting cycle speedway action. Spectators are most welcome, with admission and car parking free of charge. Facilities include spectator seating, full range of hot and cold refreshments, licensed bar, ladies and gents toilets.
