RADCLIFFE Raglan experienced a baptism of fire with their first game in the Bolton Combination League when they were torn apart by a rampant Bolton Lads Club.

A brilliant performance by the Lads led to a 10-goal destruction of Raglan.

Alan Mitchell took the opportunity to enjoy a double hat-trick and Dave Warburton netted the other four for himself.

However, despite the devastation caused by having to pick the ball out of the net nine times, Raglan still managed to grab a consolation goal for themselves, before the Lads finished things off in the 83rd minute.

Walkden AFC will need to find a goalscorer if they want to be a major force in the league.

The side went down 2-0 at Bolton Walkers. Lee Whitley and Jay Smiley notched up the goals.

Howe Bridge are another side in need of a goal scorer after also going down 2-0 at home to MPG Landscapes. Alan McGlynn scoring both.

Current league champions Stoneclough FC must surely have come down to earth with a painful bump after being soundly thrashed by a Kersal Vale side who are promising to be a major force in the league this term.

Their 7-0 beating at home to Stoneclough saw John Smith net four and Steve White a hat-trick.

Brindle Heath Lads Club and Diamond FC deservedly shared the honours thanks to a cracking game which saw both sides score three goals each.

Brindle's Joe Thornton scored a brace and Lee Gorst the other while Mark Staines also took a brace and Ian Parkinson the third for Diamond.

Commercial AFC came out 2-1 winners of an even game when they entertained AS Weaste. Steven Hyde scored two and Michell Girgenti the other for the visitors.

Farnworth Royals and Trident FC cancelled each other out in a 3-3 draw. Simon Dooley scored twice for the Royals.

Fearnleys FC suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Bolton Walkers Reserves.

The home side struggled to keep pace with the visitors who enjoyed an easy win.

Stoneclough FC Reserves managed to salvage a 1-1 draw in the final minute against Mitchell Shackleton after missing several earlier chances win the game.

Nick Taylor scored for the home side to cancel out Shackleton's Scott Ramsey's earlier effort.

Walkden AFC Reserves emerged 3-1 winners at home to White Oaks Rangers after playing some good attacking football.

John Morrison scored a hat-trick and Stuart Stott answered for the visitors.
