Pressing from the start, they went ahead with a Jeanette Williams penalty but Mond replied with an immediate equaliser.

Junior results

The Under 12 A squad entertained Fleetwood Gym at home. In control for the whole of the game, they finished as the winners by 4-0. Goalscorers were Natasha Green (2), Vicky Hughes and Karla Rostron, Player of the Match was Charlotte Banner.

The Under 12 B squad, largely new members of the club and playing together for the first time, lost 8-1 to Bury, with Hayley Wyatt scoring for the Wanderers. Bolton played much better than the scoreline suggests and the Player of the Match was Lucy Bowden.

The Under 14s got off to a fine start, beating Chorley Girls by 6-3. The only anxious moments for Bolton were when they allowed Chorley to pull the score back to 4-3, but two late goals made the points certain. Goalscorers were Linda Hughes (4), Kathryn Wicklen and Laura Fairclough.

The newly-formed Under 16s team started their season very impressively, overwhelming Ormskirk-based Toby Celtic, away, by 14-0. Wanderers were superior in every area of the field, though goalkeeper Jenni Saunders had hardly any opportunity to show that. Goals were scored by Colleen Winstanley (4), Leanne Murphy (3), Tonya Crompton (3), Lisa Baldwin (3) and Heather Holt.

Despite this excellent result, the club is still seeking more players to join this squad. Any girls aged 14 or 15 who would be interested in playing should contact Neil Fairclough on 01204 383914.
