I THINK it is outrageous that the police have not moved the farmers and hauliers who are preventing tankers from reaching petrol stations.
This politically-motivated attack on ordinary motorists by farmers and hauliers, who last week were telling us they were on the verge of bankruptcy and this week have the time and money to sit around blocking roads, should not be tolerated. In the 1980s, the miners were moved at the drop of a hat.
Yes, our fuel taxes are high, but our income tax is low compared to Europe, and we pay no tolls on our roads.
If the tax is reduced, this will have to come from money which is now set aside for schools and hospitals and fighting crime.
This is nothing to do with tax and everything to do with a weak Conservative opposition who are finding the only way they can damage the Government is by direct action, regardless of the consequences.
